Bring my soul out of prison / that I may praise Your name.
We offer up to You, O Christ, our evening hymn and reasonable service for it has pleased You to have mercy on us by Your Resurrection.
v. The righteous shall wait for me, / until You recompense me.
Lord, Lord, cast us not away from Your face, but be pleased to have mercy on us by Your Resurrection.
v. Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord; / O Lord, hear my voice.
Rejoice, O holy Zion, Mother of Churches and dwelling place of God, for You have been the first to receive remission of sins by the Resurrection.
v. Let your ears be attentive / to the voice of my supplication.
Begotten before all ages of God the Father, the Word, Who in the latter time willed to take flesh of a maid who knew not a man, endured the death of the Cross and by His own Resurrection saved man who in the past was made subject to death.
v. If you should mark iniquities, O Lord, O Lord, who shall stand? / For with You is forgiveness.
We glorify Your Resurrection from the dead, O Christ, by which You have set free the line of Adam from the torment of hell and as God have granted the world eternal life and Your great mercy.
v. Because of Your Name I have waited for You, O Lord; / my soul has waited for Your word, my soul has hoped in the Lord.
Glory to You, O Christ, our Saviour, Only begotten Son of God Who was nailed to the Cross and on the third day rose from the tomb.
v. From the morning watch until night, / from the morning watch, let Israel hope in the Lord.
We offer You glory, O Christ, Who of Your own will has endured the Cross for our sake, and we worship You, O Saviour almighty, Who loves mankind. Cast us not away from Your face, but hearken to us and save us by Your Resurrection.
v. For with the Lord there is mercy and with Him is abundant redemption, / and He will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
(Tone 6) Having placed all their hope in heaven, these holy ones have gathered for themselves and unfailing treasure; freely have they received, and freely do they give healing to those who are suffering. In keeping with the Gospel, they possessed neither silver nor gold, but they bestowed their benefits upon men and beasts. Since they submitted themselves to Christ in all things, they intercede with boldness before Him on behalf of our souls.
v. Praise the Lord, all nations; / praise Him, all peoples.
Disdaining corrupt matters, living like the angels in the flesh here below, these two holy companions became citizens of heaven; sharing the same sentiments, they had but one soul and shared one community of life. Thus they grant healing to all who suffer, bestowing their benefits freely on all in need. On their annual feast, let us sing to them in a worthy manner, for they intercede before Christ on behalf of our souls.
v. For His mercy has prevailed over us, / and the truth of the Lord abides forever.
Having become the dwelling of the Holy Trinity, these brothers worthy of our praise, the wise Cosmas and Damian, pour forth a stream of healing as a life-giving fountain with two outlets; and their relics heal the wounds of those who touch them. Their names alone are enough to drive illness from men; helpful to all who seek their aid, they intercede with boldness before Christ on behalf of our souls.
v. Glory to the Father / and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
Endless is the grace these holy ones receive from Christ; thus their relics still work miracles through the divine power; when they are invoked, their names are enough to heal incurable diseases. Through them, O Lover of Mankind, deliver us also from bodily and spiritual illness.
v. Both now and ever / and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
DOGMATIKON (BOHORODICHNE)
In His love for mankind, the King of Heaven appeared upon earth and dwelt among men. For He took flesh of a pure Virgin, and thus incarnate He came forth from Her. The only Son is He: twofold in nature, but not in person. In proclaiming Him perfect man and perfect God indeed, we confess Christ our God. Beseech Him, O Mother without wedlock to have mercy upon our souls.
STYKHERA FOR THE DAY
O Jesus Who came down from heaven, You ascended on the Cross and did come to die, O Immortal Life, true Light for those sitting in darkness: and the Resurrection of all the fallen: Glory to You, our Saviour, Who enlightens us.
v. The Lord is King, / and has put on glorious apparel.
Let us glorify Christ risen from the dead, Who took upon Himself body and soul, and separated them one from another by His Passion: for His most pure soul went down to hell which He despoiled; and in the tomb the Holy Body of the Deliverer of our souls knew not corruption.
v. He has made the world so sure / that it cannot be moved.
We glorify Your Resurrection from the dead, O Christ, in psalms and song, for by it You have freed us from the torments of hell, and have, since You are God, granted eternal life and Your great mercy.
v. Holiness becomes Your house, / O Lord, for ever.
O Lord of all, incomprehensible Maker of heaven and earth, through Your Passion on the Cross, You have freed me from passions. After enduring burial, You have risen in glory, raising up Adam with Your mighty arm. Glory to Your Resurrection on the third day, by which You have endowed us with eternal life and granted us the cleansing of our sins, for You alone are compassionate.
v. Glory to the Father / and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
(Tone 6) Since Christ has not ceased to work in you, O holy unmercenaries, you continue to work miracles here below, healing all weakness and disease. Your care is like an inexhaustible fountain: the more one drinks, the more it overflows in streams; drained daily, it gushes forth even more depleted; those who drink are refreshed with healing, but it remains full forever. What then shall we call you? You are Physicians of our souls and bodies, treating incurable pains, healing the whole world freely by the charisms received from Christ the Saviour, who grants us great mercy.
v. Both now and ever / and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
O Virgin unwedded, O Mother of God on high, you have ineffably conceived God in the flesh; and being beyond reproach, you have granted us all purification of our transgressions. Accept the supplications of your servants, and will you, who now receives our entreaties, pray for us all to be saved.
TROPAR FOR THE DAY
Rejoice, O Virgin Theotokos, / Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. / Blessed are you among women and blessed is the Fruit of Your Womb, // for you have borne the Saviour of our souls.
